Cooling Built for Serious Long Runs.

When displays, data, network, power, and peripherals are all working at once, heat becomes a stability risk. FusionDock Ultra manages it with a hybrid cooling system: passive heat-dissipation layers draw heat away from the core, while the floating midframe helps air move through the chassis. Under sustained heavy load, intelligent dual fans ramp up only when needed — helping your workstation stay stable, responsive, and uninterrupted.

Powerful Cooling. Subtle Presence.

FusionDock Ultra prioritizes system stability with Quiet Active Cooling. Adaptive fan control keeps speeds low—or the fans off entirely—under light to moderate workloads, ramping up only during sustained, demanding operation. The 44–46 dBA rating is measured at 1 cm in a controlled quiet room; at normal desk distance, sound drops off quickly, blending into everyday home-office ambience.

Quick look

What kind of dock is FusionDock Ultra, and what Macs is it built for?

FusionDock Ultra is a next-generation, high-bandwidth USB-C dock designed specifically for Apple Silicon Macs. Using a dual-USB-C connection and a dual-chip architecture, it delivers what often takes two docks: up to four external displays, 26-port pro-grade connectivity, and 140W high-power charging.

On compatible Macs and cables, it can take advantage of the latest USB-C signaling options — up to 80Gbps bi-directional bandwidth, and up to 120Gbps in the display-heavy direction when operating asymmetrically — giving you more headroom for high-resolution, high-refresh multi-monitor setups while keeping fast storage and networking responsive.

For the best experience, pair it with Macs that support USB 4 up to 120Gb/s (for example, 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4 Pro/M4 Max, 2024).

Will FusionDock Ultra work with my existing USB-C and USB devices?

Yes. FusionDock Ultra is built around the USB-C ecosystem, so your existing USB-C and USB-A peripherals—such as SSDs, keyboards, audio interfaces, webcams, hubs, and card readers—will work normally. Devices will simply run at the best speed supported by both the dock port and the peripheral.

For displays, it supports USB-C/DisplayPort/HDMI display connections, so most modern monitors and adapters work as expected.

Important: FusionDock Ultra is engineered as a host dock for Apple Silicon Macs. It isn’t intended to be used as the primary host dock for Intel-based Macs, Windows laptops, or Chromebooks.

Can Fusiondock Ultra increase the number of external displays my MacBook supports?

FusionDock Ultra exposes up to four display outputs and uses a dual-chip architecture to drive them natively, but it cannot override the built-in display limits of your Mac. The maximum number of external displays is still determined by your Mac’s chip and Apple’s display engine limits:

1. Some entry-level Apple Silicon Macs (M1/M2/M3) only support one external display natively.
2. Pro and Max chips can support multiple external displays (up to four on some M-series Max MacBook Pro models), and FusionDock Ultra is designed to take advantage of those capabilities with up to four external monitors from a single dock.

FusionDock Ultra does not use software tricks to bypass Apple’s display limits. If your Mac only supports one external display, this dock will respect that limit.

How many monitors does FusionDock Ultra support on Mac?

For MacBook Pro with Max chips

M5 Max

On M5 Max MacBook Pro, you can connect up to four displays by using any four of the six rear display-capable ports:

• 4 × USB-C downstream ports (80/120Gbps)

• 1 × HDMI

• 1 × DisplayPort 2.1

M1 Max / M2 Max / M3 Max / M4 Max

On earlier Max-chip MacBook Pro models, display connections must be split across the upper row and lower row of rear display-capable ports.

• For four displays: use two ports from the upper row and two ports from the lower row

• For three displays: use any two ports from one row and any one port from the other row

For MacBook Pro with M5 Pro

On M5 Pro MacBook Pro, you can connect up to three displays by using any three of the six rear display-capable ports:

• 4 × USB-C downstream ports (80/120Gbps)

• 1 × HDMI

• 1 × DisplayPort 2.1

For supported display counts, resolutions, and refresh rates on other Mac chips, please check the Mac Compatibility table.

For best results, always:

1. Check Apple’s latest “How many displays can be connected to MacBook Pro” documentation for your exact chip.

2. Match the dock’s capabilities with displays that support the desired resolution and refresh rate over USB-C or HDMI.

Does FusionDock Ultra work properly with the LG UltraFine 5K or Samsung ViewFinity S9 5K monitor?

Due to the way these 5K monitors are designed, the LG UltraFine 5K (27MD5KL) and Samsung ViewFinity S9 5K each require the full bandwidth of an entire Thunderbolt bus.

Because of this, FusionDock Ultra support using up to two LG UltraFine 5K monitors or two Samsung ViewFinity S9 5K monitors at the same time.

Here’s how compatibility works:

✔ Using only one LG UltraFine 5K or one Samsung S9 5K (fully supported)

You can connect one of these 5K monitors without any issues.

✔ Using Two LG/Samsung 5K monitors.

A dual-5K setup is supported, but the monitors must be connected in a specific way:

1. Connect one LG/Samsung 5K to either USB-C downstream port (the port marked 80/120Gbps) on the upper row.

2. Connect the other LG/Samsung 5K to either USB-C downstream port on the lower row.

3. When an LG/Samsung 5K monitor is connected to a USB-C downstream port on a given row, the remaining video ports on that same row cannot output video and can only be used for data transfer (e.g., storage devices).

4. This layout ensures proper bandwidth allocation and stable output for a Dual LG/Samsung 5K setup.

✔ Using one 5K monitor + one additional monitor

A mixed setup is supported, but the monitors must be connected in a specific way:

1. Connect the LG UltraFine 5K / Samsung S9 5K to any USB-C downstream port on either the upper row or the lower row.

2. Your second monitor must be connected to a video port on the other row (any available video output on that row).

3. The two monitors cannot be connected to video outputs on the same row.

4. This layout ensures proper bandwidth allocation and stable output for both displays.

✘ Unsupported setups

• Triple/Quad LG UltraFine 5K setup

• Triple/Quad Samsung ViewFinity S9 5K Setup

If your workflow requires a multi-5K-monitor setup, we recommend using one LG/Samsung 5K monitor + other supported displays, or using Apple Studio Displays for the most stable multi-display performance.

Does FusionDock Ultra rely on DisplayLink or special drivers to get triple displays on Mac?

No. FusionDock Ultra is a native USB-C MacBook dock. It combines dual 80/120Gbps USB-C controllers for quad display support and 26-port connectivity. No DisplayLink or third-party drivers is needed.

On macOS, setup is plug-and-play: connect the dock, plug in your displays, and configure their layout in System Settings → Displays. No DisplayLink software or screen-recording permissions are required.

Which Mac models are compatible with FusionDock Ultra?

FusionDock Ultra is designed for Apple Silicon Macs only and requires macOS 15.1 or later.

Supported hosts include:

• Apple Silicon MacBook Pro and MacBook Air with USB-C ports

• Mac Studio and Mac mini via the included detachable dual USB-C cable

Not supported as host machines:

• Intel-based MacBook Pro / MacBook Air

• Windows laptops

• ChromeOS devices

If you’re unsure about your Mac model, check Apple’s “Identify your MacBook Pro model” pages, then compare its display capabilities with the dock’s triple-display and bandwidth features.

How do I connect the magnetic Dual-Link Cable to my Mac mini or Mac Studio?

It is quite simple. Our new magnetic design allows you to split the two USB-C connectors effortlessly to match the port layout of your desktop Mac.

However, before you plug in, please check your specific Mac model below to ensure the correct setup:

⚠️ Important Compatibility Note:

Please ensure your device is equipped with an Apple Silicon (M-Series) chip.

We DO NOT recommend using the FusionDock Ultra with Intel-based Mac mini models, as they are not compatible with our dual-chip architecture.

Connection Guide by Model:

• Mac mini (M1 / M2 Basic Models):

These models have exactly two Thunderbolt ports on the back. Simply separate the magnetic connectors and plug them into both ports.

• Mac mini (M2 Pro):

This model features four Thunderbolt ports. You can plug the two connectors into any two of them.

• Mac mini (M4):

This model comes with three Thunderbolt ports. You can choose any two of the three ports to connect.

• Mac Studio (Any Model):

You will find four Thunderbolt ports on the rear of the device. Just separate the connectors and plug them into any two of these rear ports.

Can I charge my 16-inch MacBook Pro with FusionDock Ultra?

Absolutely. The FusionDock Ultra provides 140W Power Delivery (PD 3.1) via the upstream port. Unlike older docks that cap at 96W, this dock supports full-speed fast charging for the 16-inch MacBook Pro, eliminating the need to plug in your original MagSafe charger.

Do I need a special cable for FusionDock Ultra, and is one included?

FusionDock Ultra includes both:

• A 1.2 m USB-C 80/120Gbps cable for maximum bandwidth between your MacBook and the dock, and

• A 1.2 m dual USB-C cable for connecting your MacBook, Mac Studio or Mac mini.
