- Not every USB-C cable carries video. Look for "USB-C video cable," "Thunderbolt cable," or cables explicitly labeled for display use.
- Avoid USB-C MST splitters that claim to run two monitors from one port. macOS does not support DisplayPort Multi-Stream Transport for independent extended desktops — you'll just get mirroring.
