M1 Max, M2 Max, M3 Max, or M4 Max: These Macs can support more displays in total, but a single Thunderbolt host connection is limited to up to two external displays. Since FusionDock Pro 3 uses one upstream Thunderbolt connection, additional displays must use another display output from the Mac rather than the dock alone.

M5 Pro: Up to three native external displays through FusionDock Pro 3’s three downstream Thunderbolt 5 ports.

M5 Max: Up to four native external displays through a single Thunderbolt host connection. With FusionDock Pro 3, three displays can connect to the dock’s three downstream Thunderbolt 5 ports, while the fourth requires a supported Thunderbolt daisy-chain configuration.

For an M5 Max four-display setup, the display used for daisy-chaining must support Thunderbolt and include a downstream Thunderbolt port.

FusionDock Pro 3 does not use DisplayLink. All of the configurations above rely on your Mac’s native display support, so supported resolutions and refresh rates also depend on the exact Mac model and display combination.
