The first laptop I used as a fledgling creator was a MacBook Pro. I still remember the feeling. The clean lines. The effortless power. The sense that this machine was more than a tool — it was a quiet master, a Shaolin monk of design and performance.
Then Came 2016.
The MacBook was still elegant. But something had changed. The power was still there — but locked behind two USB-C ports. I admired the courage in pushing technology forward, but I couldn’t help feeling… limited.
As a creator, limitation hurts. Not just because of inconvenience — but because it disrupts flow, breaks freedom, and slows momentum. I didn’t want that. I wanted my machine to work with me, not against me.
So I Built What I Needed.

At the time, I was young, broke, and just getting started in the creative world. I knew how expensive professional accessories and Thunderbolt gear could get.
And as a newcomer, I had to be smart with what I had.
What if I could use both USB-C ports on my MacBook? What if I could build something that matched the specs of Thunderbolt docks — at half the price — and gave me the freedom I craved?
